We
have finished booking field trips for the 2007 season and will
begin booking for the 2008 season on August 1. Activities and
prices are likely to change prior to this date, so please check
back with us for current information as the time nears.
Monday
through Friday, mid-September through November: Cotton Hills Farm
offers tours for students which include:
--a
snack of popcorn and drink
--a
challenging four acre maze
--a
30 to 40 minute wagon ride through the farm for viewing growing
crops, ponds, wildlife, etc.
--an
opportunity to visit and learn about our barnyard animals
--a
brief interactive lesson in the top of our barn about the history
and importance of agriculture. We will tailor the content according
to the age of the children and the teacher's preferences.
--a
2 to 3 lb. pumpkin grown on Cotton Hills Farm (one per student)
--an opportunity to picnic on the tables by our log cabin
We
divide students into groups of 20 to 25 children and then rotate
groups through the various activities.
The
entire tour takes approximately 2 hours.
The
cost is $6.00 for each student, parent, or sibling who attends.
There is no cost for teachers and other paid staff.
A
minimum of 20 children or $120 is required.

Public
Farm Tours
We
are open to the public, including church groups, scout troops,
families, etc., every Saturday in October, with no reservations
or minimum number of participants required.

This
year Kim Moore, captain of Team Torsion and Roman Revenge II,
demonstrated his catapult which launched pumpkins more than a
thousand feet! We're not sure what the big attractions will be
next year, but we promise we'll have something good.
