School Field Trips

We have finished booking field trips for the 2007 season and will begin booking for the 2008 season on August 1. Activities and prices are likely to change prior to this date, so please check back with us for current information as the time nears.

Monday through Friday, mid-September through November: Cotton Hills Farm offers tours for students which include:

--a snack of popcorn and drink

--a challenging four acre maze

--a 30 to 40 minute wagon ride through the farm for viewing growing crops, ponds, wildlife, etc.

--an opportunity to visit and learn about our barnyard animals

--a brief interactive lesson in the top of our barn about the history and importance of agriculture. We will tailor the content according to the age of the children and the teacher's preferences.

--a 2 to 3 lb. pumpkin grown on Cotton Hills Farm (one per student) --an opportunity to picnic on the tables by our log cabin

We divide students into groups of 20 to 25 children and then rotate groups through the various activities.

The entire tour takes approximately 2 hours.

The cost is $6.00 for each student, parent, or sibling who attends.

There is no cost for teachers and other paid staff.

A minimum of 20 children or $120 is required.

Public Farm Tours

We are open to the public, including church groups, scout troops, families, etc., every Saturday in October, with no reservations or minimum number of participants required.

This year Kim Moore, captain of Team Torsion and Roman Revenge II, demonstrated his catapult which launched pumpkins more than a thousand feet! We're not sure what the big attractions will be next year, but we promise we'll have something good.

As always we'll have these attractions:

-- maze

-- wagon ride through the farm

-- barnyard animals

-- huge selection of pumpkins
